We’re delighted to share with you that Edgar Martins’ What Photography & Incarceration have in Common with an Empty Vase has been shortlisted for this year’s PhotoEspaña Photobook Awards, in the Best International Photobook category. Martins’ book has also made the final shortlist in the Best Book of the Year at Paris Photo & Aperture Photobook Awards 2020.
On the occasion of this nomination The Moth House has made available for sale a small number of copies online again. If you have followed our social media posts and talks lately, you will be aware that due the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent postponement of most of the exhibitions of this project, we have had to restrict the sale of the book over the past few months in order to ensure there will still be copies available to support the international tour of the project.
So it is with great delight that we’d also like to share with you that a comprehensive exhibition of What Photography & Incarceration have in Common with an Empty Vase, featuring over 100 photographs, installation, film, projection and sound will be on display to the public ‪from the 15th Jan -18th April‬ at the Herbert Museum (Coventry, UK), followed by the Geneva Photography Centre (‪9th March – 30th April‬) as well as the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum London (Fall 2021), amongst others.
You can purchase a copy of the book here.
Big thanks to Grain Projects for all their support in the development of the project.
