The Master PHotoESPAÑA 2023 is an initiative of La Fábrica and is framed in the context of the PHotoESPAÑA Festival, a recognized benchmark that works to promote and help artists and managers linked to the field of international photography. Edgar Martins is keynote speaker at this year's edition of the PHE Master, which is scheduled to take place online, on 20.03.2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. The artist will be presenting his latest works, including the project he has been producing in Libya over the past 4 years.

Ffotogallery presents a re-imagined version of the critically acclaimed project What Photography & Incarceration have in Common with an Empty Vase from 03.03.2022 - 09.04.22. This a multifaceted body of work developed from a collaboration with Grain Projects and HM Prison Birmingham (the largest, category B prison in the Midlands, UK), its inmates, their families as well as a myriad of other local organisations and individuals.

In association with ‘What Photography & Incarceration have in Common with an Empty Vase’ by Edgar Martins, currently on exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, Coventry, Edgar Martins will be in conversation with Fiona and Sarah from the Koestler Arts Trust and Sophie from Grapevine. During the event the speakers will talk about some of the themes explored in the exhibition including isolation, loneliness, loss and disadvantage.
