To commemorate World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, 2021, The Moth House has partnered with the Museum for Sepulchral Culture, Kassel, Germany, for the exhibition Suizid – Let’s talk about it!

Featuring works from our award winning book Siloquies and Soliloquies on Death, Life and Other Interludes, produced in partnership with the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, Portugal, this exhibition will transform the museum into a forum for discussion and exchange on the subject of suicide. In the exhibition, works of contemporary art as well as cultural and social history provide a frame of reference for phenomena associated with a stigmatized topic that often meets with silence. In the eponymous publication, the museum seeks out a new language for approaching suicide and suicidality through comments on the artistic works, the voices of those affected, and related research, while not losing sight of the accompanying experiences of pain, grief, silence, and humor.

This exhibition was produced with the support of the National Suicide Prevention Program (NaSPro), and the Institute for Social Work, University of Kassel).

The exhibition will be accompanied by a program of weekly events and is opened to the public from the 10 September to the 22 February 2022.
