We’re delighted to share that The Moth House has been awarded a lifeline Emergency Resource Support grant from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund to help face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure its sustainability and recovery.
As a culturally relevant organisation The Moth House has worked in the private/public arts sector since 2002 and it has a double focus: on the other hand the publication of high quality and experimental artists’ books and, on the other, the delivery of a myriad of arts and educational activities, such as exhibitions, talks, symposia, workshops, etc.
Over the past two decades we have dedicated a great deal of our resources to artist-led schemes, which have benefited a wide array of talent.
We have also aimed to deepen the quality of cultural provision in the UK by giving a voice to individuals who have too often been overlooked. Through a comprehensive outreach program with our gallery and museum partners, we have sought to mobilise vulnerable and underprivileged groups such as suicide bereavement and mental health support groups, ex-offenders and their families, individuals on the Autism spectrum, etc.
With this grant we are more confident than ever that we can continue delivering exceptional projects, publications and public engagement activities. We are grateful to both the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport an the Arts Council England for their support and investment.
Over the next few days we will be announcing details regarding our upcoming talk, editorial and exhibition programs, as well as details on the the Artistic Practice Support Print Sales Program schemes, initiative whose sole objective is the provision of support and free, career advice and portfolio feedback for emerging artists.
Through these initiatives we will be funding industry professionals to hold regular, free advice sessions with emerging visual practitioners. Stay tuned for further news.
