Edgar Martins’ eagerly anticipated new book The Rehearsal of Space & The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite is scheduled be launched on the 29th May 2014 at The Wapping Project Bankside, from 20H00.

This event will be preceded by a conversation between the artist, ESA astronaut Jean-François Clervoy and Senior Curator of Photographs at the V&A, Martin Barnes. Further information concerning this event can be found here.
Produced between 2012 and 2014 with the European Space Agency, this project represents the most comprehensive survey ever assembled about a modern day scientific and space exploration organisation.
This projects engages with ESA and its partners’ programs –the microgravity, telecommunication, navigation, lunar and Mars exploration programs, among others–, whilst also reflecting on the new politics of space exploration as well as the impact of this kind of technological application on our social consciousness.
