Ferry Tales brings us a reality mired by solitude and intensity. It is where the fleeting instant meets the eternal moment. It is where the trivial acquires an exceptional quality. It is space circulating, starting and stopping, floating and buoying. This ongoing series of work explores the departure, journey and arrival of a myriad of ferry crossing, and the ship as heterotopia par excellence. In the words of Michel Foucault, ‘in civilizations without boats dreams dry up, and espionage takes the place of adventures, and the police that of the pirates’.

Given The Moth House’s extensive experience and knowledge of the arts & culture sector, my mentorship session with Edgar Martins was particularly informative and important to my career, allowing me to pursue new lines of thought and practice. It also allowed me to get acquainted with funding and publishing opportunities for my work.
